I am Habib, a media sociologist and filmmaker at the University of Sydney. My research looks at public sociology, documentary film, migration, and digital cultures.

I’m the Media Thematic Group Convenor for The Australian Sociological Association (TASA) and an Editorial Board Member of Global Iranian Studies Review.

 

Through Others Film, I offer:

  • Workshops  for social scientists and filmmakers that develop filmmaking as a methodological approach to sociological inquiry and socially engaged screen practice.

  • Collaborative Projects where I work with communities to co-produce documentaries that amplify lived experiences and challenge dominant narratives.
